New Book – Teaser!

I’m almost 100,000 words into my next book. I announced it on Twitter last night, and wanted to post here as well.

It’s called, “Blood & Frost”, and will be a standalone novel with erotic elements, that I think will be around 130,000 words. I hope to finish the first draft in the next three weeks, and I already have a cover, which I will unveil around the end of July. =) Around that time I’ll also hint at the theme and story, and when it is published, of course I’ll post the ETA for Amazon and B&N, etc here.

Thanks for your patience, and I hope everyone has had a terrific summer. =)

Warm wishes,

Holly

Updated Website!

Welcome back to my (now updated), website if you’ve been here before, and if you’re a new visitor, well hello there. =)

So after some site issues, corruption and possibly a hacking attempt, my boyfriend – who helps me maintain this site – and I decided to move the blog to another location and rebuild it. Since the site wasn’t functioning for a while because of the aforementioned issues, it was hard to give anyone a heads up it was happening. =|

It’s not perfect, and the comments haven’t been moved yet, but it’s getting there! Over the next few weeks I’m going to spruce it up, move the comments to this new database and it will be better than before – at least that’s my intention!

I have been writing and dealing with the website, so not too much to report currently. Within the next few weeks I’ll reveal the name and some teaser information about my new book and then the cover. I look forward to reconnecting with my wonderful readers soon!

A gentle reminder… please be sure to leave reviews for my books on Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, Amazon or iBookstore!

Best always,

Holly

Writing Status

Hope everyone is well, and you enjoyed the 5th book in Lily/Stuart’s story. I’ve been busy, even though you might not have seen anything telling you what’s going on!

I recently completed an editing project for another author, and I’ve been looking into new options for my webpage, (along with trying to tamp down on my spam problems!). My goal is to freshen up the look of this page and make it easier to navigate, and on the spam front and website attack, for the time being those appear to be under control, (does anyone have spare wood to knock on? I hope it stays that way!).

I am working on a new standalone book, and shortly I’ll be announcing the rollout, which I will be doing a little differently. I’ll announce the title, genre/summary, etc and do my best to set and stick to a release date, (as closely as I can, considering how various channels require a little more lead time to roll out). I’ve also been researching blog tours, and hope to sign on for one soon, and then I’ll be resuming with my two other series, ‘The Void Chronicles’ and ‘Sine Qua Non Cycle’. I also have other ideas I’m working on developing, and will follow the same format – tease, book announcement, cover reveal, etc.

I’ve given an interview to Jeri’s Book Attic to be published soon, and when it goes live I’ll link to it here. =)

Thanks for your patience and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to make contact with me through my gmail address: hollyblackstone.author (AT) gmail (dot) com, or post here in the comments section.

Warmest wishes,

Holly

Last hours to get “Step In To the Light”; another title on sale

Later this evening the sale of “Step In To the Light” on Amazon will end, but I am putting up book one in “The Void Chronicles” up for sale for 99 cents!

I am back from visiting my boyfriend’s mom with him – she is still in the hospital, but was glad to see us, (I’ve known her for years), and the doctor hopes to move her to a rehab facility in a few days.

I am working on a standalone novel right now – still erotica, but with a bit of a paranormal twist; I’ll post a sneak peek shortly, and as I get closer to publication will provide additional details.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter and is enjoying spring!

Warm regards,

Holly
P.S. Please don’t’ forget to post a review of book five if you have a moment! Thank you! =)

**UPDATED** “Step In To the Light” to be on Amazon & Lulu – 7 April 2015

Greetings!

I have to rush out of town with my boyfriend – his mom was readmitted to hospital and he needs to visit her, and asked if I would accompany him. I was midway through the last proofread when he got the news, so the last review of the content is a bit rushed – apologies if you find more errors than usual.

I will submit the book to-morrow, (in about 10 hours really), to Lulu and Amazon, and it will be reduced on Amazon for the next several days, as promised. It should go live to-morrow evening, with B&N and iBookstore to follow about a week later, (again, that’s unfortunately the way the publishing channel operates!).

If you email me or comment I may not be able to check my messages regularly, and I apologise in advance for that. I’ll be online more regularly soon and will reply as soon as I am able.

Xoxo,

Holly

UPDATE: ~ 3 PM EDT – “Step In To the Light” is LIVE on lulu.com right now, and will be on up Amazon.com w/in 12 hours for a reduced price of $1.99 for a limited time!

Step In To the Light

A few things –

I accepted an offer on my mom’s house, and I should close within the next 10 days as long as there are no more hiccups – I already had to have a fumigator for an active termite infestation in her garage! The only remaining item is a survey, which should be completed by the end of the week, then the final paperwork, etc. Things should get much more clear for me soon!

Second, I am almost done with my editing pass; I have changed a few things, and may take a quick read through when this one is done – I’ll know more when I make it through a particularly intense bit for Lily near the end! If I feel I’ve changed a lot, I’ll give it another, much quicker pass – I know you are all impatient, and I appreciate your forbearance.

Third – I will be putting the book up for sale on Amazon for 48 hours at a reduced price; I wish I could offer it through all vendors at a discounted price, but there is a lag time for when it gets disbursed to nook and iBookstore, so I have little control over something like a limited time offer. It can take anywhere from seven days to two weeks for my book to be posted, and any changes after publication could take a few days to weeks. With Amazon, I see changes reflected within 12 hours tops, so it is much easier to control something like a discount period. I will post on this blogsite when I submit my book to Amazon, so you can take advantage of the promotional price.

I am not endorsing Amazon over any other product, (I have both a nook and a Kindle), and it’s solely a function of how Amazon publishes, as opposed to how I distribute elsewhere. On the plus side, Amazon has a CloudReader that allows you to read a book on your PC or other device, so you don’t need a Kindle.

Last but not least, this Saturday marks one year since my mom died. I hope her struggle and death has taught me to reach out to people more, try to confront even unpleasant things more diligently, and be open to new opportunities and situations. This past year, I’ve reconnected with people I’ve lost contact with, and tried to clear away some of my own debris.

Update! (again!)

Wanted to post an update on progress…

So I have the cover done, but am still editing the book, partly because selling my mom’s house has heated up. I finally got an offer that I was okay with, (offer, counter, offer), so things have accelerated. I had some paperwork being processed, (the original declaration misspelled my name and I had to get it fixed!), so now that has all taken on new urgency, and there should be an inspection within a few days and closing by the end of the month if the inspection goes smoothly! So… good news, but crazy! I can finally finish taking care of the lingering bills and final estate matters. I’ve never sold a house before; this is definitely a learning process.

So I am sorry that things are dragging out, and will do my best to continue to make progress whilst it all unfolds! Thank you so, so much for your patience!

Much love,

Holly
